Michael Stranney & Olaf Falafel‘s Edinburgh Fringe poster has won the Audience Prize at the 2015 Comedy Poster Awards. The poster, pictured below, was illustrated by Elliott Quince.
This award was chosen by a public vote.
Michael & Olaf’s, whose show is titled “Expect the unexporcupine” , takes home the £1500 prize.
To reflect the variety and unexpected nature of our show, we commissioned 21 different ‘remixes’ of our show poster – a different one for each day of the run in Edinburgh.
Displayed above is a selection of 9 of the 21 posters, other variations included WWF wrestlers, Wayne’s World, Roman statues, Vikings, skeletons and severed heads.
Panel Prize 2015
The winner of the Panel Prize at the 2015 Comedy Poster Awards was Tom Parry, whose show is titled “Yellow T-Shirt” and he takes home the £1500 prize.
This award was chosen by five judges – Steve Bennett (Editor – Chortle.co.uk), Aaron Brown (Editor – British Comedy Guide), Alex Hardy (TV and Comedy Critic – The Times), Randel Bryan (Director of Endemol Beyond UK) and Tricia Lichfield (Skatta TV).
It was a great photo taken by my friend in a gig, and it reminded me of The Clash album cover. Lets have it in black and white with the t-shirt yellow! The ace Ed Moore did the rest.
